Freight Methods
Freight Methods determine how we charge for shipping. This will be reflected in the Freight Rate setup that is the next step in this process. for now, we need to determine which of the following options will be used for each Freight Rate we setup.
- Price
- Weight
- Item Count
- Not Used
Freight Rates
Freight Rates are, put simply, how much we charge to get items from point A to point B. Freight Rates can be setup by either completing an import or by accessing the setup screen.
Import File: You can download the import file format here. Please fill it out and attach it to this ticket if you ar choosing the import method.
Setup option located in the System Config --> Shipping icon. Click Freight Rate Setup on the right. New page will default to Add Freight Rate section.
| Freight Rate Code | the numeric code to represent the freight rate calculation method |
| Freight Rate Max Amount | the maximum order amount to be covered by this freight rate method |
| By Price or Weight | Is this freight rate calculated bases on item prices or weight |
| Percentage to Charge | the percentage of the item prices charged as freight |
| Flat Amount | instead of percentage, this freight apply a flat amount |
| Freight Rate Name | a brief description of this freight rate |
| Freight Rate Country | which country does this freight rate applies to |
| Minimum Amount to Charge | the minimum amount freight charged in this freight rate |
| Handling Charge Amount | additional handle charge applies on top of the freight charge |
